Post-doc position in computational modelling of biomolecules

We are announcing the opening of a 2-year post-doc position, at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems of the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice under the supervision of Prof. Achille Giacometti. The scientific project, funded by an Italian national gran, involves the Universities of Rome (Prof. Francesco Sciortino), Milano (Prof. Tommaso Bellini), Politecnico di Milano (Dr. Stefano Buzzaccaro e Prof. Roberto Piazza) and deals with Self-Assembling Peptide-based hydrogels.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in statistical mechanics and simulations. She or he should have obtained or should be about to obtain a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or a related discipline and have experience with coding. Applications from researchers without post-doctoral experience are encouraged.

The salary will be at European standards (~1800 Euros/month net salary).

The scientific project, funded by a SPIN call (www.unive.it/spin) concerns the development of coarse grained models of DNA and proteins. The ideal candidate has a strong background in statistical mechanics and simulations. She or he should have obtained or should be about to obtain a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or a related discipline and have experience with coding in C/C++ and Python. Applications from researchers without post-doctoral experience are encouraged.

The salary will be at European standards (~1800 Euros/month take-home).
