Aim of the mission
This project aims to study, by means of numerical simulations, the topological properties of a dense suspension (melt) of active polymers, investigating the structural and dynamical differences between linear and ring melts. During the STSM, we will characterize the properties of active linear chains in the melt; if physical knots spontaneously form in the melt, what effect do they have on the dynamical properties? Further, we will investigate the properties of active rings in melt conditions, characterizing the typical conformation of the active polymer rings in the melt.
